Creating default time rates for use with time tracking Activities.
Caution: This section works in conjunction with your 'Time Billing Rates' setting. Prior to setting up these 'default 'Time Rates'

These 'Time Rates' are designed to automatically fill in the correct 'Client Rate' value when creating new time tracking activities.
Step 1. Click on 'Settings' -> 'Time Rates' as shown below.
Step 2. If you would like to set up a new 'Time Rate', simply click on “+ New Time Rate”.
Step 3. Once you have defined your parameters, click Save.
If '2 Client, Employee' is the 'Time Billing Rate' designated under 'Settings: , you would ONLY fill in the Client and Employee fields when completing a new Time Rates.
You would NOT fill in Group or Activity.
Having entries with too many options completed or not enough options completed will keep this area from functioning properly.
Time Rate properties:
Name*: Choose and enter a unique name for the Time Rate.
Client/Project: Choose the 'Client/Project' for which this time rate will apply.
Only enter a value if 'Client' is one of the listed aspects of the 'Time Billing Rates' setting.
Employee: Choose the 'Employee' for which this time rate will apply.
Only enter a value if 'Employee' is one of the listed aspects of the 'Time Billing Rates' setting.
Group: Choose the 'Group' for which this time rate will apply.
Only enter a value if 'Group' is one of the listed aspects of the 'Time Billing Rates' setting.
Activity: Choose the 'Activity' for which this time rate will apply.
Only enter a value if 'Activity' is one of the listed aspects of the 'Time Billing Rates' setting.
Description: A long-form description of this Time Rate.
Client Rate: Enter the client billing rate for this time billing rate default. This is the rate that will automatically populate the 'Client Rate' when entering a new time billing activity.
Billing Code*: Determine if this is a billable or non-billable activity.
- Billable – will be invoiced
- Non-Billable - will be invoiced, but will show 0.00 for rate
- Reimbursable – will be invoiced
- Office – will not be invoiced

Taxable – Determine if you will be collecting tax on this activity.
(Yes / No; Default is 'No' if left blank)
Note: When rates do not default correctly:
If your Time Rates are not coming in with the correct rate:
- Confirm that the 'Time Billing Rates' selection in Settings -> My Company -> Codes is correct.
- In Settings -> Time Rates, make sure only what is selected in My Company is included.
For example, if you chose Client, Employee the entries in Time Rates should be for each client and each employee, there should be no group, activity, etc. chosen in the Time Rates.
- View inactive Time Rate entries and confirm that there are none that are not set up correctly.
The most common problems are caused when you’ve selected a combination within My Company, but have entries that are missing parts of the combination.
